When we pray, we should expect something to happen. Whether the Lord speaks, His presence comes, the answer becomes tangible, something must happen. I mention this because of a discussion we have had about healing. When we pray, we come before the Father believing (1) that He exists, and (2) that He rewards those who diligently seek Him according to Hebrews 11. We should believe that we have the things that we ask of Him if we pray according to His will. Many times, healing comes in time. Now I am not saying that God cannot heal instantly but that is something that must be considered. Be consistent and continue to pray no matter what the circumstances. If you're praying according to His will, He hears you. It's the confidence we have in Him (1 John 5).

I came across this forum and I thought about the title. I'm sure that 99% of the time that we come across the words 'prayer' and 'healing' we are thinking of an action that takes place. Now, this is not wrong but there is another perspective to prayer and healing. And I believe that is that we, the body of Christ, are prayer and healing. How so? When there is a need, the Church should provide or be the answer. Where there is darkness, the Church should shine Her light and bring strategy and empowerment. Where there is brokenness, The Church is healing. What Christ is to us, we become and I believe that is a powerful statement of truth that we as the believers must get inside of us.

Brother Josue quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 in the last post. It is so interesting that God says when His PEOPLE pray. He never wants to bless a few. He wants ALL to be humble, ALL to pray, ALL to see His face, ALL to repent. This shows us that God wants us to be single-minded and in unity.

How many times have we been in service and while one is leading prayer we can hear others praying something different? Jesus prayed that we would be one just as He and the Father are one (John 17). This should be the same in prayer. When the believers gathered together in Acts 4, the Bible says that they were in one accord and they all prayed the same thing! They were together, single-minded (having one purpose), and prayed along the same lines. And because of this there was a powerful manifestation of the earth shaking.

Have you ever wondered why some prayers don't get answered? Have you ever wondered what happens in the realm of the Spirit when we pray? It's more than just talking to God. Prayer is communication between man and the realm of the Spirit...

So much happens in prayer. Praying in the spirit causes a release of divine strategies revelations and breakthrough. Things happen to us when we pray. Jude 1:20 (KJV) says 'But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost' We are built up!

Whenever the Bible says the two letter word 'IN'.. It speaks of location. When you're really praying, you're in a place, and things are happening.
Daniel 10:12 (KJV) says 'Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.'
Can you believe that Angels move because of your words?

Our words are so powerful! When we understand this we can be effective in prayer! We can command things to happen and then speak in the spirit until there's a release!

When we pray we must be aware that something is transpiring and it may be that we come to realize that there is something in the way causing a delay. We then must ask, what is going on? There may very well be a bronze or brass heaven. Deuteronomy 28:23 (KJV) And thy heaven that [is] over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee [shall be] iron. Brass deals with a mixture of elements.. So there are complexities of demonic systems and structures that cause such a block which makes it difficult to penetrate through.

Breakthrough in prayer requires strategy. And one sure way to break through is by praising God for His goodness! Praise is a type of prayer that causes brass or iron gates or heavens (Leviticus 26:19 (KJV) ...'I will make your heaven as iron..) to break!
But just as there are brass or iron heavens there are open heavens. Rain is an indication that the heavens are open. Rain means the famine is over, the dryness is gone and things can begin to grow.. Oh that it may rain on the Land! Ask for the rain in the time of rain!

There is a call to prayer:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Prayer precedes revival! This generation needs to learn how to pray! In all our getting let's get understanding, especially concerning prayer! We are the generation that will usher in the greatest revival man has ever experienced!

We have been given access to the Father through Christ our Lord. Prayer is communication in the realm of the Spirit. It is not just an action but also a place.

In 1 Corinthians 14, the Apostle Paul reveals that praying in the Spirit is a way we give thanks and praise to God and do so "very well." But he also explains how we need to have an understanding as we are praying.

Concerning spiritual warfare, we must have an understanding before we pray in the Holy Ghost. We learned that our words must precede our tongues when engaging in warfare. The example we were given was of target practice. You do not shoot aimlessly when you are trying to hit the mark. You focus your eye, position your aim, and then pull the trigger. By doing this, you will hit the target. Warfare is NOT hit or miss! So before we engage, we must direct our words: "This day, I will penetrate through the mysteries of God!"

Brother Edwin is 100% accurate about the importance of strategic prayer. Many times, we go into prayer in our own way which is not the proper order. We learned in our last conference how the type of prayer the children of Israel prayed in Exodus 14 was not the correct type of prayer for their situation. They cried out when all they needed to do was move forward in the word spoken concerning the LORD bringing deliverance!

We need to know the types of prayer and the weapons of our warfare (2 Corinthians 4:10). We need to locate the enemy, find their source of strength (which is their weapon), find the power base of what we are battling, and then assess their strength relative to ours. The battle is for territory; who is going to conquer the land and reign.

Everything that is done in the earth has to be first done through prayer. Prayer is the legal system. Prayer is extremely important. Our prayers must be strategic, there must be a target. If there is not a target in prayer, it is the same as a military solider shooting random bullets into air hoping he can shoot the enemy. Prayer is the legal system! All of the dimensions go through prayer.

Christ the Healer by F.F Bosworth has brought me so much revelation and I'd like to share with you all some of the revelation it contains and my thoughts: in terms of healing, a person needs to know what God's will is concerning the health of their body. Once God's will is know, there is something to put faith in.
One analogy that really made sense to me: The word of God is a seed. Until a person is sure that it is God's will that they be healed, it is like trying to reap a harvest where there is no seed planted.
It really convicted me that in the natural sense when a seed is planted, we have faith that it will grow into a harvest. How much more should we believe in the word of God as our seed and that God's will is for us to be healed, and through faith and knowledge of the truth receive our healing!

The maturity of the local assembly is based on its outlet. Who is being reached? What prayers are being answered? What is being targeted in the realm of the Spirit?

The immature prays for its own internal needs while the mature prays for the needs of others. We must be actively pursuing diligent prayers for others / the community. It is not enough to pray a prayer once and call it a "done deal."

The Church is the house of prayer and the place of worship. The believers are the restoration! Those who are in need of healing, deliverance, and direction come to the Church and receive it through the people.

There was a question that was raised in the teaching last week that challenged me. It was:

'If God gives an assignment to prophesy something that you won't see in your lifetime, can you do it?'

We learned that God would have us do this to birth, plant, and / or guard something for another generation. We see this with the prophets, especially Isaiah, concerning the coming of Jesus the Messiah. They were believing and expecting Him to come in their time (Isaiah was prophesying about His purpose and ministry approximately 600 years before the fullness of time came). Even though they were anticipating to see Him arrive in their lifetime, we have to focus on the fact that they saw, heard, and knew what God had revealed to them and believed it. They knew that His Word would not return to Him void and that the promise would come whether they were alive or not. A generation would come to see the promise come into fruition.

Honestly, I would prefer to see everything the Lord had spoken to me / this generation to come to pass. But now I understand that our prayers and prophesying must be able to reach, shift, and accomplish its purpose whether it is done in our time or for the generations to come.

'So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.'
Isaiah 55:11 KJV

What is the baptism of the Holy Spirit? It is the coming of the kingdom of God. It is Christ taking over in a life. No more do I live unto myself-that is over with! Now, thank God, according to His eternal purpose, He has taken over.  More»
